Jack Katz is enshrined in comic-book history for his epic, self-published science-fiction graphic novel, The First Kingdom.
Published in installments over a 12-year period, the Kingdom series remains one of the most ambitious projects in the history of the medium.
Before devoting much of his life to the mans’ ascent to the stars, however, Katz spent several years honing his craft for a variety of comics publishers.
The following story, which originally appeared in Adventures Into Darkness #10 (Standard, 1953), stands out from garden variety pre-Code horror tales because of Katz’s distinctive depiction of what comics publishers generally labeled as “The Beyond.”
Here’s “Me, Ghost.”
