Martian ghosts invade Earth and the only hope is the grit and expertise of America’s foremost scientist/occultist.
It’s a small field, granted, but I suppose we should be thankful that at least one guy spent his post-graduate years in schools of medicine and wizardry.
The best part of today’s story, however, is artist Vince Napoli’s depiction of the Martian dead. They don’t look like ghosts so much as floating green fetuses, which is a pretty damn terrifying concept when you think about the little buggers. Imagine the field day cable news networks would enjoy if those creatures were real!
The 13 Days Of Halloween continue with “Ghosts From Mars.” The story originally appeared in Dark Mysteries #3 (Master Comics, October-November 1951). The art is by Napoli; the writer is not credited.
Coming tomorrow: Here’s the WWII flying ace taking on a horde of zombies.
